Are electronic signatures legally binding?
Yes, for most documents. Electronic signatures are recognized in Canada (PIPEDA and provincial electronic commerce acts), the US (the ESIGN Act and UETA), the EU (eIDAS) and the UK (the Electronic Communications Act). A few documents, like wills, can still need ink. Every signed PDF comes with a certificate of completion.
Where is my data stored?
In Canada, on servers operated by Binarium, an Ontario company. The EU recognizes Canada as protecting personal data adequately, so bSign suits teams in Europe as well as North America.
Can I use bSign outside Canada?
Yes. Teams in any country can send, and people sign from anywhere, in any of seven languages. Pay in US dollars, Canadian dollars, euros or pounds.
Do my signers need an account?
No. They open a secure link from their email and sign on any device. You can require a one-time code sent to their email first.
Can I use bSign for health information?
Yes. Turn on Send links only, set a retention period and review the access log. A HIPAA business associate agreement, GDPR data processing agreement or PHIPA service-provider agreement is available on request.
What files can I send?
PDF, Word and images (PNG and JPG). Word files are converted to PDF automatically, and auto-detect places the fields for you.
Does it work with Microsoft 365 and Google?
Yes. Sign in with Microsoft or Google, start documents from OneDrive, SharePoint or Google Drive, and save finished ones back automatically.
Can I put my own brand on it?
Yes. Your logo and colours appear on signing pages and emails, and signing links can use your own web address.
How does per-user pricing work?
You pay for each person on your team who sends documents; signers are free and unlimited. Every plan includes documents each month for each user, shared across the team: 20 per user on Essentials and 50 on Business. A document counts once when it goes out, however many people sign it, and drafts and templates are free. Extra documents are $0.90 each.
